Blood Drive

The blood drive is coming!  The blood drive is coming!

Oneblood is coming to Robinson High tomorrow, November 20th, from 8:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. to collect blood from anyone over the age of sixteen who has permission from a parent and is willing to volunteer.  In the past years, blood drives have reached great numbers of volunteers, but Oneblood strives to surpass the past numbers.

“It is a great way to help out the community,” said Brenna McKinnie (’15), a two-time blood donor.

The blood is used in times when medical patients, who are in desperate need for blood, can receive it quickly.  If you donate blood tomorrow, Oneblood will give you free items.

All High School donors will receive a limited edition fall themed T-shirt and a wellness checkup including blood pressure, temperature, iron count and cholesterol screening, according to the blood drive hand out.

Many of the volunteers say that the Oneblood employees are very gracious while the procedure is going on.  Donators also have the ability to make an appointment on Oneblood’s website, www.oneblooddonor.org, for any questions and concerns.  The blood drive is tomorrow, so follow Oneblood’s motto and “share your power” by donating.

Justin Fontes, Yearbook Student Life Editor
Senior Justin Fontes is that kid that you see walking around with very short shorts. They are called “Chubbies” just in case you were wondering. He is the kind of person that likes to have a fun time. He’s the kind of person that is friendly to everyone. What you may not know about him is that he is the captain of both the varsity lacrosse team and the golf team and that he is the Youth Engagement Chair of the South Tampa Relay for Life. He is also in love with the water. He is the manager of a fishing team named “Tampa Bay Fishing Team.” He is on the water at least once a day. Another thing that you should know about him is that he takes part in many alternative sports, like ultimate Frisbee, archery, longboarding, surfing, etc. He is a huge outdoors person, and is currently doing something cooler than you.
