Need-to-Know Senior Dates

As the year comes to an end, seniors have many dates that they have to keep up with.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, some of these dates have been changed, and some events have been cancelled. Others are subject to change as the situation progresses.

As we have reached the second semester, the end of the school year is coming up. Towards the end of the year, there are a lot of  dates that students, especially seniors, need to pay attention to to keep themselves on track.

Buy your yearbook! – There is no deadline to buy a yearbook, however, last year the yearbooks sold out during last week of February. Make sure to watch out for the bulletin board outside of the Journalism classroom because it will be posted when there are only 50 yearbooks left for purchase.

Grad Bash – This is a night where seniors from different schools go to Universal Studios in Orlando. Universal closes the park to only seniors and it is left it open until 3 am. Grad Bash is April 18th, and tickets are on sale now for $150 on my payments plus or in room 248 with Mr. Dusold.

Grad Bash was officially cancelled on March 24, due to COVID-19. Students who already paid will get a full refund.

Prom – Prom will take place this year on May 2. and is only open to juniors and seniors. Students attending are allowed to bring a guest under 20 years old, provided they fill out a guest application and turn it in to student affairs.

IB seniors last day – The last day for IB Seniors is April 30th. These seniors get out a bit earlier than everyone else in order to have time to study for their IB exams in May. Traditional seniors last day has not yet been announced.

Deadline for Online Classes – There is no set date for the deadline to complete online classes. Students taking a virtual class should communicate with their teacher and guidance counselor to make sure all of their course work is completed in time.

Deadline for Student Debt – The county has not released a hard date for student debt. However, all debt should be turned in before graduation or you diploma will be held.

Deadline for Community Service Hours Community service hours are due by graduation. There are forms to document community service hours in the guidance office.

Graduation – Graduation for seniors is on May 22nd at the Hillsborough County Fairgrounds. Graduation will take place at 4:00 p.m.

FSU Admissions – For students that applied to FSU by November 1, decisions were released on January 31st. However, applications can still be submitted until March 1st.

UF Admissions – University of Florida’s admission decisions are slated to come out on February 28th at 6:00 p.m.

UCF Admission – The admission decisions for UCF have no set date that they will come out. However, all decisions will be out by May 31st.

USF Admissions – USF admission decisions are rolling, which means there is no set date for them to come out. However, all decisions should come out by May 1st.
