This is Senior Ashlyn Miller's third year on the Knight Writers staff and her second year in an editorial position, previously serving as the Sports Editor and now as a Co-Editor-in-Chief. Originally, Miller did not intend to take the class, describing her random placement as "luck." She was assigned to Newspaper in her sophomore year and has remained in it since. "I think I got into Newspaper by luck," Miller said. "It just happened, and I loved it. I really enjoy the creative freedoms that it gives me." Miller plays many roles within the Robinson community. She is not only a part of the Knight Writers, but is also involved in various clubs and sports, including ROTC, where she serves as an Executive Officer; Girl Up, where she is the President and Founder; Student 2 Student, where she is an Officer; KOSB (Keeping Our School Beautiful), where she is an Officer; the Swim team; and the Orchestra and Band. If that wasn't enough to illustrate how busy Miller keeps herself, she also finds time to pursue her own hobbies outside of Robinson, such as painting, other artistic activities, sports photography and sports in general. "I love fall because I love watching and keeping up with college football. I don't really care about the NFL, I just feel like college has so much more passion behind it," Miller said. "My family my whole life has bonded over Alabama football in particular, which nobody at school really gets. That just makes it feel more special to me and my family." As Co-Editor-in-Chief, Miller has many goals for the Knight Writers, which include not only accumulating awards but also helping all staffers learn and improve their journalistic skills. Last school year was a victory for the Knight Writers, as they earned a Sunshine Standout for their print publication as well as an All-Florida for both their online and print editions. Miller has high hopes, aiming to win a Pacemaker, the highest achievement a publication can achieve. With it being her senior year, Miller hopes to attend the University of Florida to pursue an undergraduate degree in nursing before attending Physician Assistant school. "I would like to work mainly in women's health. Part of what makes me love journalism so much is the idea of advocacy. I hope to be an advocate for women in their time of need now, and in the future," Miller said.  

Jasmyn Mitchner is a junior at Robinson in her second year as a staff writer for Knight Writers. Drawn to Journalism quite unexpectedly, Mitchner's bright journey to newspaper began when she needed to change her first-period class last year. Her sister who was already part of the team suggested her to join the staff. "My sister was in newspaper, and she told me about how great it was. I really liked it; so, I joined," Mitchner said. In her new and sharp second year, Mitchner is eager to dive deeper into her role and take authority of writing better stories and taking better pictures. Her extracurricular activities include pursuing her sporty passions by playing flag football and soccer. Outside of school, Mitchner's life is filled with a variety of interests which influence her hobbies. Her hobbies consist of sports, singing, hanging out with friends and traveling. "I travel a lot for soccer," Mitchner said, highlighting how her love for soccer led to the newfound hobby of traveling. Mitchner has two siblings: an elder sister who has clearly influenced her path, and a younger brother who has just entered the seventh grade. She also has a surprising pet- a fish that adds a whimsical touch to her busy life. "I have a pet fish named Harold, " Mitchner said. Her plans foreseeing her future after high school include going to college or university, with hopes of getting recruited for collegiate soccer. She wishes to play professional soccer after graduating.
