Starting Friday, Feb. 4 to Saturday, 11 NHL players from each division will go to Las Vegas to compete in the All-Star competitions and game. The Skills competition starts Friday night at 7:30 p.m. outside of the T-Mobile Arena, rewarding winners of each event $30,000.

Fountain Face-Off

One of many competitions includes the Fountain Faceoff. Players will be escorted by boat to the rink in the center of the infamous Bellagio Fountains. Each player is aiming to get their pucks in 5 targets in the least amount of time. Winners will continue to compete against each other for the winning title. Players of this event include Jocelyne Lamoureux, Mark Stone, Jonathan Huberdeau, Clause Giroux, Nick Suzuki,  Zach Werensky, Jordan Eberle, and Roman Josi.

21 in ’22

During this event, each player receives 5 pucks to shoot towards racks of oversized playing cards. Players are trying to hit cards that will add up to 21, in the least amount of shots. The first player to win two rounds out of six will be titled Puck Shark. Players of this event include Brady Tkachuk, Joe Pavelski, Auston Matthews, Steven Stamkos, and Nazem Kadri.

Goalie Save-Streak

Goalies from each division will be shot at, trying to make a puck save-streak. A puck save-streak is when a goalie continuously saves the puck from going in every time they’re shot on. The winning goalie with the largest streak will be rewarded $25,000. Goalies participating in this event include two time Stanley Cup Champion Andrei Vasilevskiy, Jack Campbell, Juuse Saros, Thatcher Demko, Tristan Jarry, and John Gibson.

Hardest Shot

Four players will compete by shooting the puck as fast as possible towards the net. The puck will be placed 40 ft. away from the net and once shot, a radar will detect how fast the puck was shot. If the players stick breaks or the radar fails to read the speed of the puck, players will get an additional chance to shoot. Players of this event include Adam Pelech, Tom Wilson, Victory Hedman, and Timo Meier.

Fastest Skater

During this competition, players will be making their way around the arena in the shortest amount of time possible. Players get to choose which direction they would like to skate, and start 3 ft. behind the starting line. As soon as refs blow the whistle and players cross the line, the time starts. If time malfunctions on the Jumbotron, the refs will have the official times. If players tie, they will compete again for the winning title. Players of this event include Connor McDavid, Cale Makar, Dylan Larkin, Chris Kreider, Adrian Kempe, Kyle Connor, Jordan Kyrou, and Evgeny Kuznetsov.

Accuracy Shooting

Players will stand 25 ft. from the net, being passed a puck from a player standing behind the net. Shooters will be aiming towards destructible targets, trying to hit all four targets in the least amount of time. Even if the puck skims the target, it will still count as a point. Tied players will compete again to determine winner of the game. Players competing in this event include Leon Draisaitl, Clayton Keller, Rasmus Dahlin, Sebastian Aho, Jake Guentzel, Troy Terry, Johnny Gaudreau, Patrice Bergeron, Jonathan Marchessault, and four passers including Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson.

Breakaway Challenge

During this event, players will be starting in the center of the ice, skating towards the goal. This competition gives players the chance to show off their best shooting skills. After a player has shot on net, judges will rate it using playing cards on a scale of 1-10. Players who tie will get one more shot attempt to receive the winning title. Players in this event include Alex Pietrangelo, Alex DeBrincat, Jack Hughes, Kirill Kaprizov, Trevor Zegras, and goalies Manon Rhéaume and Wyatt Russell.
