Whether you were trying the new Starbucks holiday menu or not, don’t go in there with high hopes.

Christmas season is here for Starbucks which means all-new signature holiday drinks to really put you in the Christmas spirit… except the new Iced Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte.

Going into Starbucks, I had really high hopes to have a delicious coffee that could easily compare to their freshly baked sugar cookies. I went to there on Thursday morning and ordered this new drink with no changes to it. I was simply dissatisfied.

I was expecting a more creamy and flavorful drink, but all I could compare it to was an iced coffee with very minimal hints of vanilla syrup flavoring and a couple red and green sprinkles on top. It was a tad thin, almost watery and not worth the price at all, with a grande being $5.25. At this point, I could just order an iced coffee at Dunkin’ for half the price.

If you like stronger coffee, this drink simply isn’t for you. It is a more refreshing and fun drink for every once in a while rather than your new brew for those early mornings.

Presentation gets a 0/10 in my book. Starbucks always has such nice drink topping designs. For example, the S’mores Frappe has decorations that are significant to the drink and enhance the flavor of the drink. But this sugar cookie latte lacked severely and the best they could do was shake a few red and green sprinkles on the top, really?

On another note, I tried another holiday flavor to compare it to in case this scenario turned out that it wasn’t good. I highly recommend the Toasted White Chocolate Mocha with two pumps of peppermint, if you want to feel festive without an overly strong drink.

I strongly recommend you go try this drink for yourself and play around with the substitutions to make it perfect for you.
