Flourish is a new vegan restaurant that opened up in the South Tampa area near Plant High School on March 1, 2022. This new vegan spot offers plant-based pizzas, bowls and sides such as loaded potato wedges, as well as treats like chocolate chunk coconut cookies.

Right when you walk in, you see that the restaurant has a very clean and minimal environment. There are a few tables stationed on the right-hand side and a big yet simple sign that says ” Flourish”. Most of the decor is green too, which really suits the clean eating and vegan vibe. They also played very fun upbeat music that created an uplifting atmosphere.

I ordered a pizza with creamy white sauce, miyoko’s mozzarella, house-made sausage crumbles, fresh jalapeno, black olives and pesto drizzled over. Everything was baked fresh right in front of me, which I really appreciated. Being able to see the fresh dough and all of the ingredients being put together was really cool and I’m just glad it wasn’t a pizza that came out of a freezer. To my surprise, my pizza was very good and I couldn’t even tell that the sausage wasn’t real meat. It was nice and filling, but not to the point that you feel grossly full after finishing the meal.

Not to mention, they also offer customizable bowls, which my two friends ordered. Both of them picked the ginger lime rice and impossible buffalo chicken, however, one decided to go with chimichurri cauliflower, pickled jalapeno and creamy ranch on top, while the other got the everything potatoes, barbecue sauce and lime pickled cabbage. While everything was good separately, both of them did agree that the flavors of the toppings were a little different and overwhelming when mixed together. They recommended getting one of their signature bowls instead of trying to make your own.

Flourish is a perfect place for people on a plant-based diet and I would highly recommend it for a quick light meal. The owner even came up to us and asked how we were doing and was very hospitable. Overall, the cleaning and welcoming environment make me want to go back a second time.
