Located in St. Petersburg, Fla., the Gallagher Pumpkin Patch has been family owned and operated for 30 years. This year, the colorful pumpkin patch had been open since Sunday, Sept. 25 and will continue to be open until Halloween, Monday, Oct. 31.

I was hit with a wave of positive energy the moment I stepped into the pumpkin patch. Immediately I was put in a good mood, as the friendly staff and families enjoyed themselves on a beautiful fall day. This made me already want to come back with my own family later on.

Decorated festively, there were multiple photo setups where families and couples were taking their aesthetically pleasing seasonal pictures. My favorite setup featured an absolutely humongous pumpkin conveniently shaped like a chair, not a comfortable one, but a chair.

Not only does the Gallagher Pumpkin Patch have a big selection of colorful pumpkins to pick from, but this patch also had a few shops that sold different food and merchandise. There were also many activities kids and families could enjoy like bounce houses, an animal pen and treats like snow cones, kettle corn and even a food truck.

The part of this pumpkin patch that I most enjoyed was the animals. There were pens with ponies, llamas, goats and my personal favorite, a fluffy white chicken that I was convinced was a monkey at first. People were able to enter the pens to look at and pet the small animals. I also loved the fact that there were dogs all around, including a very friendly golden retriever guarding the kettle corn station.

The Gallagher Pumpkin Patch has something for everyone and the atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming. Overall, I would one hundred percent recommend this pumpkin patch to anyone, especially families looking for something festive to do this fall.
