The Weeknd has completed the first leg of his “After Hours til Dawn” Tour after wrapping up at the Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles, Calif. For his last show in America, the artist announced he was coming out with a recording of this performance on HBO Saturday, Feb. 25.

I think this was a fantastic idea because this gives those who weren’t able to get tickets a chance to see great-quality footage up close. Even those who did attend previous shows can now watch and enjoy the elaborate performance and choreography once again from The Weeknd and his team.

Having attended the show at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla., it was interesting seeing the differences from the show at the Sofi Stadium. There was definitely a different energy presented in the west coast performance. He showed what seemed like more familiarity with the Los Angeles crowd compared to the one at Raymond James Stadium.

Another aspect I found different was the sound quality and vocals. Watching it on TV, I could pay more attention to the clearer vocals compared to when I was experiencing it in person. At the show I attended, I was so focused on the fact The Weeknd was performing in front of me that the visuals took hold of my attention the most.

Besides the amazing vocals, there were some dramatic shots and seriousness in the performance making the whole thing seem more cinematic. One example is the part when he played the famous Bella Hadid voicemail. The Weeknd began a dramatic walk down the runway with a melancholy expression on his face as it played out.

Dramatic shots continued all the way through to his exit from the stage. The Weeknd was smiling at the crowd, waving America goodbye as the first leg of his tour concludes, moving on to the second leg of his tour in Europe this summer.

I would recommend everyone to watch The Weekend’s live performance whether you are planning on attending one of his shows in the future or simply want to listen to great vocals and his most popular hits.
