As the warmth of spring approaches, so does the excitement for indulging in sharing a meal with friends. Whether you’re a local or a traveler looking for new restaurant experiences during spring break, elevate your palette by trying these four must-try restaurants that offer many fusions of flavors.

    1. Mochinut- If you’re into trying unique sweet and savory treats, Mochinut is the place to be. Mochi doughnuts are a fusion dish of American doughnuts and Japanese mochi. Plus, you can pair them with the classic brown sugar boba tea to make the perfect snack. What makes them so addicting and special is their chewy texture and yummy flavors like Ube and churro. Not only do they sell mochi doughnuts, but they also sell other fan favorites of American-Asian fusion food like Korean rice flour corndogs and soft serve ice cream.
    2. The Attic Cafe & Bar- Located in a historic building with an amazing view of the city, The Attic is a great spot for any meal of the day. They’ve got everything from breakfast to dinner all made fresh. My personal favorite meal to eat at The Attic is breakfast. I absolutely love their crispy hashbrown and fluffy pancakes which any breakfast lover can get behind.
    3. Quan Ngon- Quan Ngon has to be one of my favorite restaurants and definitely will be one of my stops for spring break due to the restaurant’s fresh and bright flavors. Quan Ngon serves authentic Vietnamese street food. Sure it might be a bit of a drive, but trust me it’s totally worth it in the end. Their Bo Ne dish which is served with steak, eggs, and pickled vegetables is my personal favorite dish. The flavors are so fresh and different from anything you have ever tried.
    4. Juju Taiyaki- Last but not least on the list is Juju Taiyaki. This is the spot for anyone who loves Japanese food. They make these cute-fish shaped cakes filled with all sorts of yummy and unique fillings. Whether you’re into sweet fillings like red bean paste or savory ones like pizza pepperoni, Juju Taiyaki has something for everyone. The best part for me would be that you get to choose between sweet or savory it’s like two treats in one!

So, if you’re looking for some delicious eats this spring break, make sure to check out these awesome restaurants. They’re sure to satisfy your cravings and give you a taste of something new and exciting. Whether you’re in the mood for some creative fusion food or authentic cultural cuisine, these restaurants have something to offer for everyone making them the perfect places to share food and create memorable moments with friends over spring break.

Whittaley Bowden, Senior Staff Writer
Whittaley Bowden is a senior at Robinson and a senior staff writer for Knight Writers. This is her second year on staff. Bowden grew up in a multicultural household, so in her free time, she enjoys cooking lots of different foods. She has moved past baking as she has grown older and has started to experiment with her own creations and new food trends that she has seen on social media. This reflects her favorite section to write, which is multimedia, specifically MidKnight snacks. “I started getting into cooking because I just loved to explore new food and make my own recipes to enjoy," Bowden said. Bowden is very involved with Robinson and in many different clubs and extracurriculars. One of these clubs is Future Health Care Professionals of America (FHCPA), where she is the secretary. Aside from all her extracurriculars, Bowden really enjoys listening to music and has a very broad taste indulging in multiple genres such as Afro beats, K-pop and a little alternative music. “I've been really into Afro beats recently because it seems to be the big thing over this summer,” Bowden said. Bowden has really been thinking about her future recently especially since her time at Robinson is coming to an end. She has said she wants to continue her education at a college either in-state at the University of South Florida (USF) or out-of-state at the University of Georgia (UGA). "I would definitely want to major in biomedical science because I have always loved science class in school," Bowden said. Profile by Sofia Scott
