Music lovers love tuning into the Grammys every year, hoping to see their favorite singers get awards for their song, album or accomplishment in music. The nominees for the 2026 Grammys came out on Nov. 7. Everyone likes to see the nominees and see if their favorite artists are listed to possibly get an award. It’s also a great way to find new artists and songs to add to your playlist. Some nominees of each category have greater accomplishments and deserve to win the award more than others based on statistics and opinion. There are 26 Grammy Categories, some of which spark more debate than others.
Song of the Year
The list was fair; it includes some popular songs like “Manchild” by Sabrina Carpenter and songs people of all ages know, like “Golden” from KPop Demon Hunters. There is a variety of songs from across music genres, but I can’t say that there is one song on the list that I would be willing to listen to on repeat: there are better songs out there.
I think “Manchild” by Sabrina Carpenter would be the best song on the list to win Song of the Year because Carpenter is a very popular artist right now, and her song appeals to the modern crowd.
Best Pop Duo/Group Performance
This list is also a mix of well-known songs and songs I haven’t heard of, like “30 for 30” by SZA with Kendrick Lamar. There are also artists I haven’t heard of before, like KATSEYE and SZA.
“APT.” by ROSE and Bruno Mars was also nominated in this category, and I believe it would be the best song for the award since it is popular and well-known by people of all ages, plus it is high energy, and it really gives the pop vibe that usually sweeps the Grammys.
Best Country Solo Performance
This list has mostly popular artists, like Zach Top and Tyler Childers, and well-known songs like “Good News” by Shaboozey and “Somewhere Over Laredo” by Lainey Wilson. Almost all of the songs on the list are both popular downloads and popular on the radio.
I would want Lainey Wilson to win the award, since this is a very nice song – not very fast, but not slow either; and with a clear message – but she’s already won a Grammy, and most of the other nominees of this category have not. The second-best song is probably “I Never Lie” by Zach Top because the song is just the right tempo, and the beat is similar to what pre-modern country music had, though it is modern enough that current country fans will enjoy it.
Tune into the 2026 Grammys to see if you find that the winners of categories are deserving of the award in your opinion. I hope the winners are artists who represent the music genre best.
