A Starbucks New Go-To Order

Starbucks dropped 13 new drinks, but none compare to the new Cannon Ball drink.

If you’ve ever stood in line at Starbucks debating between two refreshers, the Cannon Ball might be the answer you didn’t know you needed. This drink combines two fan-favorite flavors into one colorful, refreshing mix that feels both exciting and familiar. From the first sip to the last, it’s the kind of drink that immediately stands out, and quickly becomes hard to forget.

The Cannon Ball drink is a mix of the strawberry açaí lemonade and dragon fruit drink, with strawberries and dragon fruit in it. When you first take a sip out of it, you can taste the strawberry açaí lemonade then you get the taste of dragon fruit. It’s quite refreshing and the blend is perfect, plus it’s two of the best Starbucks drinks in one. It’s the kind of refresher that made me love Starbucks even more.

What really makes the Cannon Ball stand out is how tangy it is because of the strawberries. It’s very berry, fruity and one is good enough to give you some kind of boost. The colors are so pretty when combined together because the dragon fruit gives it a nice purple color while the strawberry gives it a nice pink color. The mix of strawberries and dragon fruit really add the cherry on top because it’s not too strawberry like or dragon fruit like, its the perfect combination.

By the time you’re halfway through, you already know it’s going to be one of those drinks you keep thinking about later. I know for a fact I’m going to be buying that drink more often, because now I don’t have to be spending ten minutes deciding what drink I want. It’s not just a one-time order “for fun” drink, it’s a new favorite. The Cannon Ball doesn’t just taste good, it feels like a reward, whether you’re starting your morning or treating yourself after a long day. If this drink sticks around, it’s definitely going to be a go-to for a lot of people because I know it’s going to be a go-to for me.

Ayumi Solorzano is a sophomore and this is her first year with the newspaper staff. Solorzano joined newspaper this year because she is an avid reader. “I really like stories, and publishing stories seems fun to do,” Solorzano said. When caught reading, you may find Solorzano with novels from the Harry Potter and Twilight series. To pass time, she also mentioned she enjoys going on long walks. Some other activities she enjoys doing are shopping at the mall, going to the beach, and eating out at restaurants. Solorzano also enjoys listening to music, especially Deftones. “I got into Deftones from my parents. I’m passionate about it and it fits into my personality,” Solorzano said. Solorzano was a cheerleader when she was in elementary school and before newspaper she was in band. When moving to Florida in middle school, Solorzano wanted to have art as her elective, but instead of being put into art, her school put her into band. After playing the clarinet and spending some time in the class, Solorzano took a liking to band and decided to take it for the remainder of her middle school years and for her freshmen year. Before Florida, Solorzano lived in Texas and visited Louisiana and New Mexico. She also goes to the northern part of Mexico to visit family regularly. Solorzano may appear to be very shy at first, but once she warms up to you, she is quite personable. “Once I feel comfortable I can be really loud and kind to people,” Solorzano said.
