After the previous Guidance Counselor for last names L-Z left Robinson, a former Knight returns. Ferriero started teaching at Robinson in 2019, moved to Sumner High School for a year and a half, and now she’s back! She has been in Tampa for three years, counseling since 2014.

Ferriero is happy to be back at Robinson and is excited about meeting new students and hopefully having a proper graduation at the Florida State Fair this year.

Considering the large number of portables and construction that has taken over Robinson, Ferriero has taken a liking to them.

“Actually I really like the trailers! There’s a lot more room compared to the offices we used to have in the old building.”

Ferriero has a huge passion for helping others and working towards helping them succeed.

“People are my favorite, I know that sounds odd. I really just enjoy relationship building and getting to know students and helping them through hard times. I find it really exciting figuring out what students want to do, and watching people grow and change, and being there for them in times of need.”

When students leave her office, Ferriero hopes students feel comforted and that they don’t blame her for schedule changes. She wants students to leave her office thinking they had a conversation that changed their perspective to look at things differently.

As we know it, teachers are constantly working hard, so free time is limited. In Ferriero’s case, all of her time is spent taking care of her 8-month-old baby.

“I have a soon-to-be 8-month-old baby, so I don’t really have a lot of free time these days. I guess my time is mostly spent with the baby or trying to manage household chores”.

Ferriero is already making a good impact on students.

“The first time I talked to her she was super kind. I think Ferriero is really nice and will do a great job as the new guidance counselor” Evan Pickles (’25) says.
