I remember watching last year’s seniors writing their Journalism Senior Letters thinking that I had all the time in the world, after all my graduation was a whole year away. It’s only now looking back, a mere month away from the end of my high school career, that I realize how wrong I was.
I first joined journalism in my sophomore year. After an unusual freshman year with half the grade online and students getting quarantined every other day, sophomore year felt like my first real year of high school. Despite being absolutely terrified to step out of my comfort zone, I signed up for journalism, hoping to force myself to branch out and become a part of the community.
It’s safe to say after three years on staff Knight Writers has helped me do just that. It has pushed me to do things that I could never imagine myself doing as a freshman, like interviewing the superintendent or most of all becoming Editor-In-Chief alongside Vikram. Being on staff has pushed me to grow as a person and given me more confidence than I ever expected.
But most of all, Knight Writers has introduced me to many people that I wouldn’t be on staff without, especially my fellow managing editors. Over the past three years, we have grown together, and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work alongside them.
There’s nothing left to say but goodbye Knight Writers. Thank you for all you have given me.
