This week’s word is: mollify [moluh-fahy]– (v) to soften in temper

Every Wednesday in homerooms teachers will give a vocabulary word and its definition to students. Use the word correctly in a sentence or demonstrate the word in an illustration and turn it in Thursday during lunch period for a chance to win a gift card. The best entry each week will be announced Friday and win a $10 Target gift card.

This Wednesday’s winner was William Bower (’16) who used the word “mollify” in the sentence, “The United States does not negotiate with terrorists, even if just to temporarily mollify their hatred.” Congratulations to William Bower.
