Safe Driving Design Contest

Safe Driving Design Contest

Claire Chen, Staff Writer

Every year, over 3,000 teens die each year from car crashes, making it the number one cause of death for teens from ages 16-19. In order to raise awareness for this national problem, The Self Movement, a Jacksonville non-profit organization that partners with local communities to help and support high school students, is sponsoring the Teen Safe Driving High School Design Contest 2014.

In this competition, students have the opportunity to win up to $4,000 in scholarships by creating a slogan and design that will inspire fellow teens to drive safely and avoid distractions such as cell phones. Although registration began March 24th, interested students will still have until April 30th to submit their artwork. The winner will be announced at a “red carpet event” in June, so get designing!
