The American Cancer Society’s main office challenged Robinson and Plant to see what high school could register the most teams for this year’s Relay for Life. The competition ended at midnight on January 30th, and Kristina Chowning announced during lunch today, Feb.13 that Robinson had won.

Plant registered nine teams, and Robinson registered 21.

The competition, as well as Chowning’s presence at the Purple Table, contributed to the large number of teams registered this year.

In about two weeks, Robinson will receive a cake as a prize to give a slice to each individual student that is registered on a team.

This year, Robinson High School is the host for South Tampa’s Relay for Life, which takes place on April 24 and 25, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
