Broadway Knights, the showcase put on by the Robinson theater troupe, will be held in the schools auditorium on October 19, at 7:00 p.m. It is the RHS Thespian Troupe #2660 first performance of the new year .

“It’s a mix of acting, singing, and a little dancing too,” Orlea Mattson (’18) said. Mattson has been apart of the troupe since her freshman year at Robinson. She is going to be singing a song from the musical Wicked with Corey Hendricks (’18). “I’m a little nervous, but we’ve been practicing basically since the beginning of the school year,” Mattson said.

Kaitlyn Scott (’19), another member of the troupe, is also performing in the show. “It’s going to have monologues, solos, large and small group numbers and more,” Scott said. She is going to be performing in the opener, closer, and two group numbers in the showcase.

Originally, Broadway Knights was set to be on the 10, 11, and 12 of October, but had to be changed because of air conditioning problems in the auditorium. “We had to push the show back because we didn’t get a chance to rehearse,” said Maureen Pelamati, theater and AP Language and Composition teacher. “We decided to wait until we had enough time to rehearse it properly so we can put on the best show possible.”

“We have a lot of new talent and our troupe has doubled in size just this year,” Pelamati said. A lot of freshman have joined the theater this year and Pelamati is looking forward to see what they will add to the show. “I’m excited to give everybody the opportunity to get their time in the spotlight.”

Purchase tickets in advance during schoole lunches or from a theater student for $5. Tickets are $7 at the door.
