October has just begun, and while the weather in Tampa may not yet resemble anything vaguely autumnal, Halloween is just around the corner. There are lots of fun, Halloween-related events in Tampa for Robinson students to take advantage of, some of which are free.

Howl-O-Scream

Howl-O-Scream is Busch Garden’s annual Halloween event. For almost a month, the park will be filled with haunted houses, roaming monsters, and live shows after dark each weekend.

When: Howl-O-Scream starts at 7:30 each night, running from September 23 through October 30.

Creatures of the Night at Lowry Park Zoo

Lowry Park Zoo has a new Halloween events this fall, one which will include haunted houses, nocturnal animals, and a Halloween-themed dance party.

When: Fridays and Saturdays, from Oct. 7 through 29, Open until 10 pm.

Cost:  Special “after 4 pm” tickets are sold on event days for $19.95 (ages 3 and up)

Screen on The Green at Water Works Park

Water Works Park is showing free Halloween-themed movies on an inflatable screen every Saturday starting on October 7th.

October 21, 7-10 p.m. “Hotel Transylvania 2”
October 28, 7-10 p.m. “Ghostbusters 2016”

Ybor City Ghost Tour

The Ybor City Ghost Tour explores the eerie stories of real people, events, and folklore from the city’s history.

When: Dates and reservation can be found on their website at http://www.yborghosttour.com/tickets/

Cost: $25.00 for Adults. $10 for Children 8-12 . The tour is not open for children under five years of age . Children under the age of 16 MUST be accompanied by an adult.

Sir Henry’s Haunted Trail

Sir Henry’s Haunted Trail is an outdoor haunted attraction located in Plant City, Florida featuring two scary trails.

When: 7:30-10:00 p.m., Sept. 30, Oct. 1, 7-9, 14-16, 21-23, 28-31

Cost: Varies depending on the type of ticket, see website for more details

Haunted Woods Hillsborough State Park

Hillsborough River State Park hosts their 24th annual Haunted Woods event, with a Haunted Woods trail, family tram rides (Saturday only), and a costume contest.

When: Friday, Oct. 21 and Saturday Oct. 22, 6-10 PM

Cost: Tickets are $10 for ages 13 and up, younger siblings 12 and under are free.

A Nightmare on Franklin Street at The Tampa Theater

The Tampa Theater is showing class Halloween and Horror themed Movies all this October, and will also have ghost tours and special screenings throughout the month.
