Band Ends the Year with a Bang

Jazz Ensemble, Concert Band, Tri-M Music Honors Society and Wind Ensemble all held their final concert of the year.

The RHS Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, Tri-M Music Honors Society and Wind Ensemble all held one final concert for the 2021-2022 school year on Thursday, April 28. The performance consisted of a variety of music ranging from fun and groovy tunes played by Jazz Ensemble; to more serious pieces such as “Kyiv, 2022” by Brian Balmages, which was composed to capture the tone of the current geopolitical conflict; to the Avengers theme song.

Additionally, this production was a sort-of musical farewell to all of the seniors in the various music ensembles and societies who are going on to different schools across the country.

“Our last concert was interesting. It was certainly memorable because we played some very difficult pieces. I feel like we had some great moments and we had fun,” said Band Captain Aidan Bai.

RHS Band Director Christopher Revett also responded with similar optimism as Bai regarding the concert.

“I feel that it was a really great last performance for us. I was really happy with it being our senior’s last concert and with the performance of all of our ensembles. It was a good way to close out the year, and students worked hard to put on a good show,” Revett said.
