Robinson’s annual club fair day will be taking place on Wednesday, Aug. 23 outside of the cafeteria during all lunch periods.

Students are given the opportunity on club fair day to venture from table to table to see the wide variety of clubs Robinson has to offer. This day is an opportunity for students to get information regarding such clubs and join new clubs which they may be interested in before the first club day of the school year.

The monthly club days are an all-day affair, so it is recommended that a student join at least one club in order to take advantage of the allowed time.

“The club fair allows students to find a community they can relate to or a program they’re passionate about,” said Aniyah Ritch (’25), President of the Best Buddies Club. “It’s especially great for freshmen to find a club that they like because it gives them the opportunity to make new friends and acclimate to their new high school environment.”

About the Contributors
Yesenia Rosario
Yesenia Rosario, News & Features Editor
Yesenia Rosario is a junior at Robinson and the News & Features Editor of  Knight Writers. This is her second year on staff and her first year as an editor.  Rosario has a deep fondness for the community that journalism has built for her, leading her to return to the staff for a second year.  "What brings me back is the community and the work, it’s very great. It’s very easy but fun at the same time," Rosario said.  Although busy with her academics, Rosario manages to find time for hobbies; she especially enjoys baking and being with friends. Rosario also appreciates a wide variety of media, particularly the essence of Jordan Peele's movies. Currently, “Coraline” is ranked as one of her favorite movies due to its more dark and irreverent tone.  “It's not that I don't lean over any other genres of movies, it's just that I think that thrillers and creepy movies have you on the edge of your seat more, they could be more interesting," Rosario said. "More can be done with a lesser timeframe, rather than like two-hour movies, and though they're good, they're pretty lengthy, so I think that horror and thriller movies have so much content in a short amount of time." Being a movie and music enthusiast, her favorite section to write is A&E. She often finds herself gravitating towards sections that allow her to editorialize.  “I prefer writing album reviews over any other, because it's something I enjoy writing about and giving my opinion on and it gives me a reason to listen to music for fun, rather than having to write lengthy feature stories or any informative story that aren't as fun to write," Rosario said.  Rosario hopes that her love for writing will continue to play a role in her future, even after high school. “One of the reasons I like journalism is that you’re able to choose and write about what you’d like and I think that’s pretty cool," Rosario said.  Profile by (Jordan De La Cruz)
Allie Barton
Allie Barton, Social Media Editor
Allie Barton is a junior at Robinson and the Social Media Manager for Knight Writers. This is her second year on staff and second year as an editor. Barton joined the journalism staff in 2021 to further her photography and writing skills. She would describe herself as having a great passion for journalism. Always staying proactive, Barton likes to venture into many different activities to show her photography skills. Outside the journalism classroom, she is involved in school clubs like the photography club and the PTSA. Barton enjoys reading, running, baking, painting and occasionally playing video games in her spare time.  As an avid lover of writing, naturally, her favorite subject would be English. Putting her thoughts on paper promotes a feeling of freedom for her, and she feels it's a great way to express her thoughts.  Another passion of Barton's is music, especially the genres of Indie, Rock, R&B and Rap.  "I listen to many genres of music, such as Pop, Rap, R&B, Indie, Rock and many more. Some of my favorite artists are The Weeknd, Lana Del Ray, Juice Wrld, The Neighbourhood and Chase Atlantic," Barton said. As a person, Barton always tries to display her personality. She hopes that people will see her as helpful, kind, considerate and a positive person to be around. After her high school career, she aspires to become a pediatrician or work in psychology. "Growing up, I have always looked up to my doctor and have always admired him growing up. I’d love to be that person for kids in the future. I really love learning why people think and act the way they do. I have always had an interest in science and anything with being a doctor while growing up. My pediatrician, I have always looked up to so seeing him do his job while maturing made me realize at some point I might want to do this. Watching a show like "Criminal Minds," really opened my eyes to a field other than just pediatrics," Barton said. (Profile by Whittaley Bowden)
