Robinson (20-8) kept their season alive on Tuesday night with a 3-1 victory over DeSoto County (9-18) by scores of 21-25, 25-15, 25-15 and 25-5.

The Lady Knights struggled through the first set, getting acclimated to a new lineup without setter Rebecca Hill (’16), who was out with an ankle injury.

“We settled down and got the nerves out of our system,” said Robinson head coach Christen Garcia. “[We] realized that if we can control what we’re doing on our side of the court, minimize our errors, then we’re setting ourselves up for success.”

Ashley Osiason (’18) stepped in for Hill, finishing the night with 39 assists and 13 digs, both career highs. Emily Draper totaled 18 digs, with Kristin Werdine (’19) adding 10 kills, 11 digs and five aces. Catia Sleet (’16) finished with 19 kills and 13 digs.

Robinson will now have to prepare for Saturday’s regional semifinal matchup with Sebring (20-4).

“The biggest thing is just taking care of the ball on our side of the net,” said Garcia. “We talk about being organized on our side of the court and then trying to force other teams to be disorganized.”

Saturday’s regional semifinal matchup will get underway at 2:00 p.m at Robinson.
