With culinary adjusting and settling into portables, starting on April 8, culinary will now be selling Piña Coladas on the patio during all Friday lunch periods until the end of this school year for $3.

Alex Galvin (‘23), Robinson Culinary Facilities Manager and Student Executive Chef, and Chef Smithey sat down at the start of semester two to discuss items they could make in their new portable kitchen. “Almost from the beginning, smoothies were a very popular item because they were relatively easy and required little involvement.”

Adjusting to their new kitchen, Chef, Galvin and couple others on the team decided to go with the smoothie idea and now Piña Colada Fridays exist now. “Piña colada Fridays was an idea that naturally came about during the planning process of our recipes and flavors and was modified to best be able to serve the student population.” Alex Galvin spoke on how they decided on executing the idea.

Recently, culinary re-opened their coffee bar where students can order coffee (their choice of hot or iced) with the provided creamers and syrups culinary has for $1.

“I think that opportunities like these allow non-culinary students to experience just what exactly we do here at school, and they receive insight on how things in the culinary world truly operate. through these events, my team gets to show off all their skills and ideas in a fun way, while letting their creativity shine through their work,” Galvin said.
