After losing a close fight at Newsome, the Lady Knights volleyball team needed a win in their first home game of the season against the Lennard Longhorns on Thursday, August 28. With the bleachers packed and everyone cheering them on, the Knights were pumped up and ready to take the win.

They started off with a decent score of 25-12 in the first set, but they were just warming up. They came out in the second pushing hard, and finished with a solid score of 25-10. By the third set, the fans were going crazy; screaming and chanting the players’ names. The Lady Knights finished off the Longhorns quick and easy by a score 25-7  in the third set.

McKenna Tyson led the Lady Knights with six kills for the night. She was closely followed by Meghan Byrd, who had five kills. Rebecca Hill helped out her team with thirteen assists and three aces, and Catia Sleet finished with eight aces.

It was a great first home game for the Lady Knights. The croud was full of school spirit and excitement. The Lady Knights’ next game is Tuesday at home against Spoto. See you there.
