Cross Country had their first meet of the 2014 season on September 6th at Wiregrasss Ranch High School. The boys’ team came in 2nd place, while the girls’ team came in 6th. For some people like Cheyenne Follenius (’15), it was their first cross country meet representing Robinson.

Follenius transferred to Robinson this year as a senior. Follenius says she was not very nervous before the race.

“I have been on cross country teams for a few years, so I am more experienced with that.”

Her time for this meet was 23:06, but her best time is 20 minutes and 50 seconds.

“I feel like I could do better, but I did feel accomplished as it was the first meet of the season.”

The girls’ cross country team practices every weekday.

“I think I can definitely work harder, run more, and get my stamina up in order to improve my time.”

The next girls’ cross country meet is this Saturday at Withlacoochee.
