Four games into the 2015 regular season, the Lady Knights are clearly focused and set on returning to states for a third straight year. They picked up their fourth straight victory on Thursday night, this one over Gaither, by scores of 25-14, 25-23 and 25-22.

“The streak is just a reflection of our tough preseason,” said team captain Catia Sleet (’16). “If we keep putting the work in, we’ll produce.”

It was a solid night for two newcomers to the sport as Chrisheena Rolack (’16) and Christiana Rolack (’18) combined for seven blocks. Leading the way, however, were Sleet, who tallied 16 kills, and fellow captain Rebecca Hill (’16), who finished with 19 assists and two aces. Kristin Werdine (’19) continued her strong start to the season with eight kills, four aces and three blocks.

Heading into next week, Robinson is looking for a measure of redemption against King, who beat them in four sets last September.

“Our mindset for King is to forget the past,” said Sleet. “All that matters is today and giving it our all for future games.”

The matchup is set for Tuesday at King High School (6815 N 56th St, Tampa, FL 33610). Junior varsity will play at 6:15 p.m. before varsity takes the court at 7:30 p.m.
