Volleyball: Lady Knights Fall to Plant

Tuesday night began the home stretch of the season for the Lady Knights as they took on rival Plant. As with any matchup between Robinson and Plant, fans on both sides were at it throughout, making for a hostile environment. The Panthers (17-5) proved to be too much to handle on the night, sweeping Robinson (16-6) in three straight sets by scores of 25-18, 25-16 and 25-15.

“Plant played harder than we did. They were more disciplined,” said Robinson team captain Rebecca Hill (’16). “We need to work up our confidence in order to perform against these big teams. We can’t worry about the crowds or about making mistakes. We need to play for each other.”

Hill and fellow captain Catia Sleet (’16) led the way for the Lady Knights. Hill totaled 20 assists and nine digs while Sleet picked up 13 kills. Emily Draper (’17) had a solid game as well, finishing the night with 17 digs.

Plant, who played strongly all the way around, was led by Ansley Gould (’16) and Camryn Vogler (’19).

The Lady Knights will now shift focus to Strawberry Crest (10-7), who they will host on Thursday night for senior night, before Saturday’s Dig Pink event.
