Boys Basketball

Since last Tuesday’s home loss to Jesuit, the Knights have won three in a row over Jefferson, Tampa Bay Tech and Middleton. All three victories were by double digits (67-53, 61-48 and 60-43), with Jefferson being the only team that scored over 50 points.

Through seven games, Iyan Mitchell (’16) leads the Knights in scoring with 16.6 points per game while the front court is led by Francisco Mediavilla (’16), who is averaging 11.3 points per game and 10 rebounds per game.

Robinson (6-2) also won their game against district rival Spoto Friday night in triple overtime, 73-70.

Girls Basketball

The Lady Knights’ hot start continued this week with wins over Tampa Bay Tech and Middleton after beating Jefferson last Friday.

Savannah Giles (’18) and Charlotte Tuohy (’17) are the team’s leading scorers through 10 games.

“Personally, I think we need to keep the energy up and play our game,” said Tuohy. “We need to value possessions and play hard the whole time. It’s all about hustle.”

Robinson (8-3) beat Spoto 41-38 Friday night in a district matchup.

Boys Soccer

The Knights stopped a two-game losing streak on Tuesday with a 9-2 win at Spoto before taking a 3-2 loss to Sickles at home on Thursday. With just four games left in the regular season, Robinson has their sights set on finishing strong.

“We just need to keep practicing together and keep working as a team,” said Michael Marinskiy, who scored two goals in Tuesday night’s win. “It felt like a big accomplishment to finally put up some goals for the team and contribute to the win.”

Robinson (5-5) will next take the field on Monday in a big district matchup at Jesuit.

Girls Soccer

The Lady Knights picked up a 9-1 win at Spoto on Tuesday, stretching their district record to 4-0.

“[The team needs to] implement the drills we do in practice into the games and listen to their coaches’ infinite knowledge on game strategy,” said Robinson head coach Billy Helms. “Senior leadership is the key to our success.”

Robinson will play their final district game of the season next Thursday at Jefferson.;

Competitive Cheer

After taking third in last week’s competition, Robinson slipped down to a fifth-place finish in Tuesday night’s competition at Armwood. Alonso took home first while Sickles, who won last week’s competition, placed second.

With only two meets in the books, adjustments can be made, which begin with cleaning up the mistakes in their routine.

“We need to work on our confidence and tightening up the simple part of our routine,” said team captain Kelly Dorsey (’16). “Because we don’t have a very difficult routine, we need to make sure we hit perfectly every time to give us a chance at a strong finish.”

The team will look to improve upon this week’s finish next Tuesday at Hillsborough.
