After stopping a five-game losing streak with a 64-46 win at Middleton last Friday, the Knights (10-8) must turn their attention to the final stretch of the regular season that includes games against both Plant (3-16) and Jesuit (15-2) next week. They will first host Spoto (8-9) on Friday at 8:00 p.m. in Robinson’s second annual Break the Silence event, which raises awareness for domestic violence.

Girls Basketball

The Lady Knights (15-4) have won 10 games in a row, with their last loss coming on November 20 at Riverview (9-9). With just two games left in the regular season, Robinson will look to keep the streak going as they head into districts. They will host Spoto on Friday at 6:00 p.m.

Boys Soccer

Undefeated Newsome (11-0-2) took care of the Knights (5-8-1) last Friday by a score of 6-0. After having no games this week, Robinson will start their postseason run next Wednesday with a district semifinal game at Spoto (0-12).

Girls Soccer

A tough 6-0 loss to Newsome (14-1-2) last Friday ended the regular season for Robinson (7-6), but they will get the postseason underway on Friday against Jefferson (2-9-1) in the district semifinals. A win would give them a spot in the district finals on Saturday against the winner of the other semifinal between Blake and Spoto.

Competitive Cheer

The Robinson cheer team will head to Plant City on Friday to compete in regionals, which will determine whether or not the team qualifies for states.

Wrestling

The Knights competed in their first dual meet of the season last Friday. In the meet, they earned a victory over Alonso, which was the 250th of head coach Thomas Montero’s career.

“It has been a long journey of restless nights, hard working seasons, sacrifices, tens of thousands of miles traveled, fund raising, struggles, emotions, attitudes that I have dealt with, focusing young men to be successful in whatever they do,” Montero said. “Exhaustion!”

Robinson’s next meet is a 10-way this Friday and Saturday at East Bay.
