How to get your sports fix during quarantine

It has been three weeks since live sports have been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This has left a void in the hearts of many basketball and hockey fans as their seasons were getting close to the playoffs. Now they are left to deal with being stuck at home without any new sports content until further notice. But there are still ways to scratch that itch that these competitions normally took care of.

The NBA is giving a free preview of their league pass while their season is on hiatus. This will allow viewers to watch replays of every NBA game of the 2019-2020 season, as well as some classic games and content. For more information on how to access this content, visit NBA.com

In a similar fashion to the NBA, the NFL is giving fans their Game Pass for free until May 31 in the United States, and until July 31 to most countries outside of the United States. This will give those who sign up full replays of games from 2009 to 2019, as well as other exclusive content. Visit NFL.com/GamePass for more details on how to receive this service.

There is also the world of esports that is still available. These competitions, while not the sports most people are used to, can bring some of the same energy that basketball, football and other sports can. Esports are also able to be played from the competitors houses via the internet, meaning that there are still leagues that are competing throughout the pandemic and bringing new content to be consumed. Whether it be League of Legends, which has their North American playoffs starting on April 4, or the tournament that the NBA is organizing with NBA 2K20, which will include 16 current NBA players competing in virtual basketball, both can take the place of live sports during these weird times. The NBA tournament will include players such as Kevin Durant, Trae Young and Demarcus Cousins.

Even in a global pandemic, competition has found a way to survive. Whether it be past sports games or the up-and-coming market of esports, sports fans and people in general still have ways to fulfill their need for sports.
