On Saturday, Feb. 27, the Robinson girls flag football team played two games at the Tournament Sportsplex of Tampa Bay for the third annual Girls Flag Football Preseason Classic, hosted by the Buccaneers.

The Preseason Classic is the largest sanctioned girl’s flag football tournament in the nation and is typically held at the Buccaneers training facility. The tournament is among some of the initiatives the Bucs have taken in order to provide opportunities for women at all levels of football. Due to COVID-19 concerns, this year’s tournament was moved off-site.

The first game was played against the Dunedin Falcons and the second against the Lecanto Panthers. Their first official game of the season will be played at Gaither High School on March 1.
