Baseball:

Starting the week with a district matchup, the Knights faced the Blake Yellow Jackets on Tuesday, April 11, and won 4-0. Robinson had a total of six hits, Blake with four. Coming off of a shutout, the Knights hosted Plant City on Thursday, April 13. In four innings, the Knights were defeated 15-0.

The Knights face Wharton on Thursday, April 20, for Senior Night at Robinson High School (6311 S Lois Ave, Tampa, FL 33616) at 7 p.m.

 

Flag Football:

After a hectic twelve days that included eight games, the load slowed for the Knights as they only faced one opponent last week. On April 13, the Knights shut out Chamberlain 61-0.

“This season has been really great so far and both our offense and defense have been performing well,” quarterback and captain Olivia Salzman (’17) said. “We’re trying to get better every day as we get closer to the playoffs.”

The Knights face Alonso on Senior Night next Monday, April 24, at Robinson High School (6311 S Lois Ave, Tampa, FL 33616.)

 

Softball:

After a victorious weekend at the Bill Longshore Memorial Tournament, the Lady Knights faced Blake on Tuesday, April 11. In three innings, they defeated the Yellow Jackets 19-1. Julia Garcia (’20) started on the rubber for Robinson, giving up Blake’s soul run with one walk and three past balls to advance the runner home. On Thursday, April 13, the Lady Knights fell to Plant City 3-0.

The Lady Knights face Wharton on Thursday, April 20, at Robinson High School (6311 S Lois Ave, Tampa, FL 33616) for Senior Night.

 

Boys Tennis

The Knights competed in the District Tournament at Hillsborough Community College on April 10 and 11. Unable to beat Jesuit and Tampa Catholic, the Knights placed third in districts and fell short of advancing.

“I think we did very well for a young team against some very experienced players, most of which play in high level tournaments outside of school,” number two player Nic Narvades (’19) said. “We had all the heart in the world and I really liked the effort of the team.”

 

Girls Tennis:

This past week, the Lady Knights took the gold at the District Tournament at Hillsborough Community College On April 10 and 11. They defeated Lakewood, Middleton, Academy of the Holy Names and Tampa Catholic. In one particular doubles match, Ashley Osiason (’18) and Elliot Peterson (’19) found themselves down 9-1 in a tie breaker, with the match only going to 10. The Lady Knights came back to win the match, and went on to win districts.

“I am really proud that we were able to work together and get out of our slump, and I think that bodes well for the rest of the season as we continue to states.” Osiason said. “It shows we have a lot to be proud about and a lot to work on.”

The Lady Knights compete at the Regionals Tournament Finals on Thursday, April 20.

 

Track:

In an intra-squad meet at Robinson last Tuesday, April 11, the boys and girls track teams honored the seniors. Click here to read the story.

Both the boys and girls track teams will compete in the 3A-9 district meet on Wednesday, April 19, at Gaither High School (16200 N. Dale, Tampa, FL 33618.)
