Need a new muse? Look out for these “It Girls”

I love when I find a new “It Girl” to obsess over. Following upcoming trends become even easier when there’s a fabolous trend setter to keep tabs on. As a self proclaimed pop culture consumer and fashion lover, here are my top icons to watch out for.

Alexandra Saint Mleux

Some may have heard of Saint Mleux through her recent engagement to famous F1 driver Charles Leclerc, however, I find her impeccable sense of style more notable. After debuting her public appearance alongisde Leclerc in 2023, her classy, elegant style has been worth recreating. Mleux tends to style bright colours and tailored silouettes to create a chic overall look.

Ruby Lyn

Starting off as a fashion youtubern based in Canada in 2017, Lyn has become a stylish icon in previous years holding a strong digital precense. Her style is centered on keeping up with current fashion but in a chic, not-so tacky way. She focuses on elevated basics that are classy and wearable.

Noa Levy

Probably the youngest it girl on this list, Levy is only 18 years old with more experience than individuals who have been in the field way longer. Some highlights of her young career include networking with founder of Chérir Vintage Kayla Innes, model Ana Flores, fashion designer Jason Wu and music stars, Olivia Violet and Remy Bond. With a style centered around quality vintage clothing, Levy chooses her pieces with care and dedication. With a natural it-girl persona, Levy styling passion will be definetly be seen in the fashion world.

If you need inspiration when styling an outfit, one of these “It girls” may give stylish ideas that you hadn’t thought of. I find myself creating intepretations of all of these girls’ styles when dressing myself. Obviously, personal style is important but there’s no shame in looking for iconic references.

Sophie Le , a senior and third-year staffer, is thrilled to be serving as Co-Editor-in-Chief this year. “This is my third year on staff, my first year as Co-Editor-in-Chief,” she shared. “Last year I started out as Opinion Editor, and yeah, this is my senior year.” Sophie is especially excited about the opportunities ahead. “I’m so excited, especially in newspaper, to gain more leadership, create a better community, and also just try things I’ve never tried in the years past.” Outside of journalism, Sophie is a passionate tennis player. “This is my fourth year on varsity tennis and my third year as captain,” she said proudly. While she doesn’t plan to play competitively in college, she adds, “I’ll probably just play for fun, maybe do like some club.” When she’s not leading a newsroom or dominating the court, Sophie finds inspiration in music. “My favorite artist is Lana Del Rey, she’s like my all-time favorite artist,” she said, adding that her current favorite song is “Thunder.” Right now, Sophie is also tackling the college application process head-on. “My goal is to survive college app season,” she admitted. “I just started opening Common App and I’m just really hoping to relax and let things flow.” She has her eyes set on the University of Florida, where she hopes to “major in public health.” As she heads into her final year, Sophie’s focus is clear: “To lead with purpose, survive the Common App, and make the most of every moment.” (Profile by Tony Wallace)
