Krispy Kreme’s “Cookie Blast Collection” Is a Cookie Lover’s Dream

Krispy Kreme has teamed up with some of your favorite cookie brands to make a sweet tooth’s dream come true.

Krispy Kreme is back with a new cookie-inspired doughnut collection named “Cookie Blast,” collaborating with two well-known businesses in the cookie industry, Chips Ahoy! and Oreo. Although Krispy Kreme may continue to partner with these businesses, the cookie-themed doughnuts will only be on sale from Monday, April 17 through Sunday, May 7.

“Imagine your favorite doughnut with two Chips Ahoy cookies inside it,” Dave Skena, Global Chief Brand Officer for Krispy Kreme said in an interview. “We made that a reality. Our new Cookie Blast collection in partnership with Chips Ahoy and Oreo will blow away cookie and doughnut lovers.”

Available in a gorgeous blue Chips Ahoy and Oreo custom-designed box, the new cookie-inspired doughnut collection includes:

  • Oreo and Chips Ahoy Cookie Blast: a shell doughnut filled with two Chips Ahoy chewy cookies and Oreo cookies and cream filling, then dipped in cookie dough icing and a blend of Oreo and Chips Ahoy cookie pieces. Finally, it’s decorated with a dollop of cookies and cream icing and one mini Oreo and Chips Ahoy cookie each.
  • Chips Ahoy Candy Blasts: an original glazed doughnut dipped in cookie dough icing and decorated with Chips Ahoy! cookie pieces, milk chocolate candy gems and semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  • Chips Ahoy Cookie Dough Kreme: a shell doughnut filled with Chips Ahoy cookies and cream filling, dipped in chocolate icing and drizzled with cookie dough icing and topped with Chips Ahoy mini cookies.
  • Oreo Cookies & Kreme: a shell doughnut filled with Oreo cookies and cream filling, dipped in chocolate icing, topped with Oreo cookie pieces and drizzled in icing.

After eating these newly released doughnuts, I was definitely experiencing a “blast” of cookie flavor. I was already sold on the concept of combining two of my favorite cookie brands with a delicious and original glazed doughnut from Krispy Kreme and the taste did not disappoint. The Oreo Cookies & Kreme Doughnut, which was back by popular demand and I can see why, was my personal favorite. Even though the chocolate wasn’t as intense for me as it was in the Chips Ahoy! doughnut, this pastry had a very distinct cookies-and-cream flavor that was top-tier. Despite the fact that it was my favorite, any of the doughnuts from the Cookie Blast collection would satisfy a sugar craving.

The aesthetics of these doughnuts undoubtedly screamed “There’s no such thing as too many cookies.” Each of these doughnuts was delightfully covered with either Chips Ahoy! or Oreo cookies, with the exception of the “Oreo and Chips Ahoy Cookie Blast” doughnut, which was topped with both. That being said it wasn’t terrible that each of these delectable pastries was overflowing with excessive amounts of cookie taste. I would advise anyone who loves cookies or just simply has an insatiable sweet tooth to head to the nearest store right now.

The new cookie-themed doughnuts from Krispy Kreme delivered on their promise to “blow away” customers, at least in my case. If you are a devoted cookie fan (even if you are not), the Cookie Blast Collection doughnuts are absolutely worth trying.
