What better way to recognize the wrestling team seniors than a lead of 21 points. On Tuesday, Jan. 25, the Knights went against the Alonso High School Ravens and beat them with an impressive 51 points.

The matches were won at a steady pace, as the Ravens put up a good fight. There would be multiple wins, but then the Knights would get behind on points. Overall, the Robinson wrestlers pulled through and managed to put up a lot of points before the match ended.

During the match, the seniors were brought onto the mat and given flowers. Their names were called and each senior provided a small quote about their season. With not many seniors on the team, the younger members will be expected to lead the team in the next season.

The team wasn’t only celebrating their win, though. After Alonso packed their bags, the Robinson Alumni came together to wish Head Coach, Thomas Montero, a happy Birthday! They sang and gave him cupcakes after a successful wrestling meet.
