Grace Hilton is a junior at Robinson and the Sports Editor of Knight Writers. This is her second year on staff and as an editor.
Hilton decided to pursue journalism for a second year because she fell in love with its welcoming and close-knitted environment. She also reasons that it is her favorite part of the day and the best way to start school.
"I was originally forced into Journalism one my freshmen year, but I ended up really liking it, so I decided to join the staff my sophomore year," Hilton said. "I didn't really know what my interests were at the time, so I wanted to try something new and newspaper just stuck with me."
Outside Room 250, Hilton is a member of PTSA (Parent Teacher Student Association), where she enjoys giving back to her community by doing volunteer work.
In her free time, Hilton enjoys scrolling and watching gaming videos on YouTube. She enjoys a variety of music as well, but mostly R&B. Recently, she has even picked up an interest in playing guitar. You can also always see her with her bullmastiff labrador mix, Monty.
Even though she doesn't have a set plan for the future, Hilton aspires to go to college and major in something related to computer science.
"Ever since I was little, it's been my academic goal to go to college. There isn't a specific college I want to get into and I haven't set my mind on anything and am keeping my options open because I believe your whole life is more than college," Hilton said.
As Sports Editor, Hilton has many new goals for this school year. She is looking forward to exploring journalism on a newer level as well as writing more opinion stories.
"I am looking forward to getting more involved at Robinson through newspaper. Newspaper is so integrated into the school, so you get to know a lot of people. " Hilton said. "Also, I really want to write more opinions this year because I have found myself wanting to voice my opinion more recently."
