This year, the Robinson Starlets are going for sil

This year, the Robinson Starlets are going for silver, as they are beginning a successful competition season. After performing at various school events such as football games and pep rallies, they now must focus on competing during their winter guard season. They have placed in several competitions this year and are now heading to the Daytona championships.

A large part of the starlets, besides their athletic ability, is the showmanship of the routine they put on for the judges, which made the perfection of their routine crucial. This year's theme is "Suenos de Cali," which means Dreams of Cali in English. It features white ruffle tops and blue ruffle skirts, reminiscent of Latin dance wear, as well as a fitting soundtrack consisting of Spanish renditions of "California Dreams" by the Mamas and Papas and "Hotel California" by the Eagles. and colored flags.

"It's mainly about dreams of being in California from an outside perspective," said Starlets Capitan Gabriella Toranzo ('25).

So far, they have been mostly competing against local schools and teams. Their routine had not yet been fully cleaned and perfected until the most recent pep rally, so they hadn't been placing as well as they hoped to be. But now that their routine has been completed, there are high hopes for their achievements this season.

"Getting the whole show together was hectic," said Starlets Coach Siara Espejo. "We had some technical difficulties with the props but thankfully it all worked out."

In their most recent competitions at Riverview High School and Seminole High School, they placed 1st and 2nd overall, meaning they will be moving on to the championship competition at Daytona Beach.

"We've been doing a lot better this season, there's been lots of ups and downs, and we're really looking forward to competing in states," Toranzo said.

The starlets are projected to place second at the state-wide competition.

On Saturday, March 23, Robinson hosted its rededication ceremony as construction finally comes an end. Many alumni, past and current staff and students, and Hillsborough County Public Schools School Board Members gathered in the auditorium to celebrate. Key moments included Keynote Address by 1990 - 1996 Past Robinson Principal Dr. Sylvia Albritton, a musical presentation of “Camelot” by Thespian Troupe 2660 and much more.

Seniors look forward to Grad Bash every year; it i

Seniors look forward to Grad Bash every year; it is a highly anticipated once-in-a-lifetime event where students from Florida and other states come to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure for a night. Robinson High School will be attending Grad Bash on Sunday, April 13 from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Tickets will cost $125 per person. They are available on MyPaymentsPlus from Tuesday, Jan. 16 to Feb. 15. If financial help is needed, administration will work with students in need of help.

“Seniors should expect a really fun night at Universal and just a good time to spend with friends and to celebrate their efforts throughout senior year. The event will take place at Universal and Islands of Adventure after the park hours and [students will] get to experience the park at night time and just enjoy all of the cool rides there. For example, the Harry Potter lands and all the fun rides and attractions,” said Tara Kuklen SGA Senior Class President.

A limited number of tickets are available, so purchase your ticket as soon as possible. Permission slips also need to be filled out, notarized and returned to math teacher Renee Kowalik’s room (B-204).

Senior Saksham Sivaraman has already purchased his Grad Bash ticket and is looking forward to the trip.

“I think it [Grad Bash] is a great and fun experience and when life gives you this type of opportunity, you have to make lemonade,” Sivaraman said.
