Gabriella "Gabi" Treviño is a senior at Robinson and a staff writer for Knight Writers. This is her first year on staff. No stranger to high school journalism, Treviño was a staffer for the award-winning Excalibur Yearbook during the 2022-23 school year. However, upon discovering her interest in video production, Trevino was compelled to join the Knight Writers staff. Treviño loves making videos and is especially excited about producing videos for Knight Mic, Knight Writers' man-on-the-streets style videos. "I feel like [newspaper is like TV production] in the same way since we still get to do videos and stuff," Treviño said. Outside of journalism, Treviño is a rap music enthusiast. Her favorite artist is Kanye West. "Truly, no one does it like him," Treviño said. A big role model in Treviño's life is her mother. She feels that her mother giving birth and raising her is a good enough reason to earn that title from her. After high school, Treviño pictures herself being rich and wealthy and having the means to support herself. Something that keeps Treviño motivated and on task, even through tough times would be her fear of failure. "I feel like either that or the thought of getting in trouble," Treviño said. Coleton Rone is a junior and a staff writer for the Knight Writers. This is his first year on staff. Rone is looking toward being one of the new hosts for the Knight Writers' very own Knight Mic and is most excited for the environment and excitement that surrounds it. "I joined newspaper because I thought I would have a lot of fun doing the interviews [for Knight Mic]," Rone said. "I'm excited for the football games specifically...I think the interviews there are going to be very enjoyable because the environment at [football games] is an experience of its own." Outside of journalism, Rone enjoys tapping into his musical side, he enjoys listening to music and playing his instruments. He plays bass guitar on his own, but academically, Rone plays double bass for Orchestra. Aside from music, Rone is a true fitness enthusiast at heart, as he enjoys testing his physical limits with weightlifting. He expresses this passion of his by lifting at least 4 times per week. When he isn't becoming a rising musician and expressing his athletic abilities, Rone spends his free time with his many pets but primarily his cat named Duck while watching Amazing World of Gumball. When asked about his greatest inspiration, the top person that comes to his mind is his Dad. "...he's a good person [with] good moral values, and he doesn't do anything despicable or evil," Rone said. After he leaves Robinson, Rone isn't quite sure what he will do next. He plans on either going to a 4 year university to major in business, or going to a trade school to learn more about a career in mechanics. (Profile by Keirra McGoldrick)

Keirra McGoldrick is senior at Robinson and the Opinion Editor of Knight Writers. This is her third year on staff and her second year as an editor. McGoldrick, as an editor, must provide a sense of direction and help for those coming into newspaper who may not quite know what they need to be doing. She must also make sure that all stories written by staff writers are up to par with that of the standard for the newspaper. “I edit all the opinion stories and make spreadsheets for opinion writers," McGoldrick said. McGoldrick may like writing in journalism, though nothing trumps her love of photography. She lists photography as one of her favorite hobbies and pass times outside of journalism. “I like photography," McGoldrick said. "I take pictures of anything I find interesting." Though McGoldrick has to keep up a balance of her academics and the needs of newspaper, she hopes to have enough time to join the photography club.  She wishes to do this in order to interact and convey her love of photography with other like-minded students at Robinson. Being the academic achiever that she is, McGoldrick keeps up with all of her classes. The two of these classes that she holds closest to her heart are journalism and history. However, she probably favors journalism a little more because it has her favorite teacher, Ms. Webster, who leads her to improve herself in all manner of things, especially photography. Outside of journalism, one of McGoldrick’s pastimes is to listen to music. As we know everyone needs a little bit of music to pull them through a slow school day, or just a slow day in general. “I like R&B and pop," McGoldrick said. “Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, Ariana Grande, etc." High school isn't all McGoldrick has mapped out to do. Seeing as she is an academic achiever, McGoldrick already has plans for her future. She plans to keep her academic streak going through college. “I plan on going to university and majoring in criminal psychology and then after I graduate from normal college, I’m going to go get a PhD,” McGoldrick said.
