About the Contributors
Briana Garcia
Briana Garcia, Senior Staff Writer
Briana Garcia is a junior at Robinson and a Senior Staff Writer of Knight Writers. This is her second year on staff. Garcia was brought to Journalism by a lack of interest in any other elective the school offered. However, she found an open and creative environment when she came into the newsroom. "I thought there were terrible options, but I feel like there are a good group of people in journalism, like to be in this class you have to have some kind of initiative, some character," Garcia said. During her time on staff, Garcia has been able to pursue her interest in photography. While she enjoys a more artistic approach to photography, she has found an appreciation for sports multimedia. "More specifically sports, I love taking photos and doing photo galleries of games," Garcia said Her passion for photography expands past her schoolwork, as she spends time documenting her own world through the art form. Garcia expresses her creativity most often through fashion. She finds her favorite unique pieces when thrifting, a craft that she has mastered. She also loves to express herself in more permanent ways. Garcia has several patchwork-style tattoos representing her music taste and personal style even further than just her clothes. "I bought my friend a tattoo gun for her birthday, she just gives me any tattoos I want. Most of my tattoos are band or music artist related, I'm really into music and I like to express that," Garcia said. Garcia dreams of going to fashion school to express her full potential in the industry. "My dream school is Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York; I want to go into fashion business or fashion design. I don't know how to draw, but I am really good at sewing and all the business aspects of it," Garcia said. (Profile by Ashlyn Miller)
Gabriella Treviño
Gabriella Treviño, Staff Writer
Gabriella "Gabi" Treviño is a senior at Robinson and a staff writer for Knight Writers. This is her first year on staff. No stranger to high school journalism, Treviño was a staffer for the award-winning Excalibur Yearbook during the 2022-23 school year. However, upon discovering her interest in video production, Trevino was compelled to join the Knight Writers staff. Treviño loves making videos and is especially excited about producing videos for Knight Mic, Knight Writers' man-on-the-streets style videos. "I feel like [newspaper is like TV production] in the same way since we still get to do videos and stuff," Treviño said. Outside of journalism, Treviño is a rap music enthusiast. Her favorite artist is Kanye West. "Truly, no one does it like him," Treviño said. A big role model in Treviño's life is her mother. She feels that her mother giving birth and raising her is a good enough reason to earn that title from her. After high school, Treviño pictures herself being rich and wealthy and having the means to support herself. Something that keeps Treviño motivated and on task, even through tough times would be her fear of failure. "I feel like either that or the thought of getting in trouble," Treviño said. Yesenia Rosario
Yesenia Rosario, News & Features Editor
Yesenia Rosario is a junior at Robinson and the News & Features Editor of  Knight Writers. This is her second year on staff and her first year as an editor.  Rosario has a deep fondness for the community that journalism has built for her, leading her to return to the staff for a second year.  "What brings me back is the community and the work, it’s very great. It’s very easy but fun at the same time," Rosario said.  Although busy with her academics, Rosario manages to find time for hobbies; she especially enjoys baking and being with friends. Rosario also appreciates a wide variety of media, particularly the essence of Jordan Peele's movies. Currently, “Coraline” is ranked as one of her favorite movies due to its more dark and irreverent tone.  “It's not that I don't lean over any other genres of movies, it's just that I think that thrillers and creepy movies have you on the edge of your seat more, they could be more interesting," Rosario said. "More can be done with a lesser timeframe, rather than like two-hour movies, and though they're good, they're pretty lengthy, so I think that horror and thriller movies have so much content in a short amount of time." Being a movie and music enthusiast, her favorite section to write is A&E. She often finds herself gravitating towards sections that allow her to editorialize.  “I prefer writing album reviews over any other, because it's something I enjoy writing about and giving my opinion on and it gives me a reason to listen to music for fun, rather than having to write lengthy feature stories or any informative story that aren't as fun to write," Rosario said.  Rosario hopes that her love for writing will continue to play a role in her future, even after high school. “One of the reasons I like journalism is that you’re able to choose and write about what you’d like and I think that’s pretty cool," Rosario said.  Profile by (Jordan De La Cruz)
