Zoe Thaxton, Editor-in-Chief
Zoe Thaxton is a senior at Robinson and Co-Editor-in-Chief for RHSToday and Knight Writers. This is her third year on staff and second year as an editor.
Thaxton can best be described as an 80s rock lover and Queen-fanatic. She’s also a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and “Stranger Things.” If you were to look at what song’s playing in her earbuds, it’d most likely be something along the lines of ABBA, Queen or the music from her recent movie-obsession’s soundtrack.
“I just always loved the look of what is typically “retro”… I never got to express myself a lot as a kid and I finally realize this was something I liked, not anyone else. This was my thing that I controlled,” Thaxton said.
Avidly involved in the school, Thaxton is a member of the Robinson Key Club, Photography Club and the National Honor Society (NHS). She’s currently serving as the Co-President of the Photography Club for her second year.
Most of Thaxton’s published works are opinion columns and reviews, but she’s also well-inversed in softball and can write a pretty mean baseball game recap. As Editor-in-Chief, she oversees Knight Writers online and print, working with each and every staff member to ensure everyone remains on track with their responsibilities and jobs as well as maintain a healthy and balanced environment.
Going into her final year on staff, Thaxton has already set goals for herself. As a leader on staff, Thaxton wants to step up and make sure that the staff knows she’s there to help, all while improving her own writing.
