Joseph Treviño
Joseph Treviño, Staff Writer
Joseph Treviño is a junior at Robinson and a staff writer for Knight Writers. This is his first year on staff. Treviño has many goals this year, including wanting to get better grades and also to improve at his sport of choice: swimming. He swims for Robinson, as well as a club. “Last year was my first year on the swim team and I made it all the way to regionals and districts,” Treviño said. “So, this year I’m trying to make it to states, mostly for my backstroke.” Treviño has a variety of interests outside of school. He can often be found tuned in to his favorite rock music or watching one of his favorite movies or TV shows such as “Community.” He has a passion for film as well, citing his favorite movie as “Pootie Tang.” “It’s about this guy who fights corporate America, but he speaks this made-up language the whole time,” Treviño said. Treviño is also interested in exploring multimedia this year, specifically recording and editing videos. “I want to do a lot of very random and unique stuff with interviewing people and to work with my friend Colton,” Treviño said. Besides having his academic and athletic goals, Treviño is looking forward to exploring uncharted territory in newspaper and being able to surround himself with friends while doing so. “I want to have fun and be able to work with my friends and I want to explore new areas and media,” Treviño said. Coleton Rone
Coleton Rone, Staff Writer
Coleton Rone is a junior and a staff writer for the Knight Writers. This is his first year on staff. Rone is looking toward being one of the new hosts for the Knight Writers' very own Knight Mic and is most excited for the environment and excitement that surrounds it. "I joined newspaper because I thought I would have a lot of fun doing the interviews [for Knight Mic]," Rone said. "I'm excited for the football games specifically...I think the interviews there are going to be very enjoyable because the environment at [football games] is an experience of its own." Outside of journalism, Rone enjoys tapping into his musical side, he enjoys listening to music and playing his instruments. He plays bass guitar on his own, but academically, Rone plays double bass for Orchestra. Aside from music, Rone is a true fitness enthusiast at heart, as he enjoys testing his physical limits with weightlifting. He expresses this passion of his by lifting at least 4 times per week. When he isn't becoming a rising musician and expressing his athletic abilities, Rone spends his free time with his many pets but primarily his cat named Duck while watching Amazing World of Gumball. When asked about his greatest inspiration, the top person that comes to his mind is his Dad. "...he's a good person [with] good moral values, and he doesn't do anything despicable or evil," Rone said. After he leaves Robinson, Rone isn't quite sure what he will do next. He plans on either going to a 4 year university to major in business, or going to a trade school to learn more about a career in mechanics. (Profile by Keirra McGoldrick)

With an affinity for editing videos and having already written a few full-length stories, De La Cruz's passions for newspaper extend beyond the class. He felt joining newspaper would benefit his interests and wanted to expand his already formidable writing abilities. "As a writer I felt like this would be a super fun way to expand my influences with writing but also with the video editing," De La Cruz said. "I already have a good past in video editing that I think doing more of it would be great." While De La Cruz enjoys the opportunity to express his writing abilities, video creation is another thing that drew De La Cruz to newspaper. He looks forward to making content for the ongoing "Man on the street" videos under the Knight Mic series. De La Cruz looks forward to being able to build on the foundation left by previous classes and hopes to expand the coverage of Knight Mic videos beyond pep rallies and RHS sporting events. "I'm excited to be a host, be able to put my charisma on the screen," De La Cruz said. "Just being able to make videos with two friends of mine, I'm really excited." Never staying in one school for long, De La Cruz looks forward to finishing his final years at Robinson and leaving his mark on the school as a Knight Writer. "I used to move every year, but this is the only time I'm going to be able to finish the next three years at the same high school," De La Cruz said. "I'm super hopeful ... [that] I'll be able to have some sort of mark on the school." (Profile by Yesenia Rosario)
Gabriella Treviño
Gabriella Treviño, Staff Writer
Gabriella "Gabi" Treviño is a senior at Robinson and a staff writer for Knight Writers. This is her first year on staff. No stranger to high school journalism, Treviño was a staffer for the award-winning Excalibur Yearbook during the 2022-23 school year. Her favorite artist is Kanye West. "Truly, no one does it like him," Treviño said. A big role model in Treviño's life is her mother. She feels that her mother giving birth and raising her is a good enough reason to earn that title from her. After high school, Treviño pictures herself being rich and wealthy and having the means to support herself. Something that keeps Treviño motivated and on task, even through tough times would be her fear of failure. "I feel like either that or the thought of getting in trouble," Treviño said. Briana Garcia
Briana Garcia, Senior Staff Writer
Briana Garcia is a junior at Robinson and a Senior Staff Writer of Knight Writers. This is her second year on staff. Garcia was brought to Journalism by a lack of interest in any other elective the school offered. However, she found an open and creative environment when she came into the newsroom. "I thought there were terrible options, but I feel like there are a good group of people in journalism, like to be in this class you have to have some kind of initiative, some character," Garcia said. During her time on staff, Garcia has been able to pursue her interest in photography. While she enjoys a more artistic approach to photography, she has found an appreciation for sports multimedia. "More specifically sports, I love taking photos and doing photo galleries of games," Garcia said Her passion for photography expands past her schoolwork, as she spends time documenting her own world through the art form. Garcia expresses her creativity most often through fashion. She finds her favorite unique pieces when thrifting, a craft that she has mastered. She also loves to express herself in more permanent ways. Garcia has several patchwork-style tattoos representing her music taste and personal style even further than just her clothes. "I bought my friend a tattoo gun for her birthday, she just gives me any tattoos I want. Most of my tattoos are band or music artist related, I'm really into music and I like to express that," Garcia said. Garcia dreams of going to fashion school to express her full potential in the industry. "My dream school is Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York; I want to go into fashion business or fashion design. I don't know how to draw, but I am really good at sewing and all the business aspects of it," Garcia said. (Profile by Ashlyn Miller)

English is one of his fondest subjects and he sees the class as an opportunity to improve his skills. "I like reading anything horror like Stephen King. I really like older stuff too, like the classics," Carbajal said. Along with newspaper, Carbajal plans to get more involved in the Robinson community by joining clubs.
