Allie Barton, Social Media Editor

Allie Barton is a junior at Robinson and the Social Media Manager for Knight Writers. This is her second year on staff and second year as an editor.

Barton joined the journalism staff in 2021 to further her photography and writing skills. She would describe herself as having a great passion for journalism. Always staying proactive, Barton likes to venture into many different activities to show her photography skills.

Outside the journalism classroom, she is involved in school clubs like the photography club and the PTSA. Barton enjoys reading, running, baking, painting and occasionally playing video games in her spare time.

As an avid lover of writing, naturally, her favorite subject would be English. Putting her thoughts on paper promotes a feeling of freedom for her, and she feels it’s a great way to express her thoughts.

Another passion of Barton’s is music, especially the genres of Indie, Rock, R&B and Rap.

“I listen to many genres of music, such as Pop, Rap, R&B, Indie, Rock and many more. Some of my favorite artists are The Weeknd, Lana Del Ray, Juice Wrld, The Neighbourhood and Chase Atlantic,” Barton said.

As a person, Barton always tries to display her personality. She hopes that people will see her as helpful, kind, considerate and a positive person to be around.

After her high school career, she aspires to become a pediatrician or work in psychology.

“Growing up, I have always looked up to my doctor and have always admired him growing up. I’d love to be that person for kids in the future. I really love learning why people think and act the way they do. I have always had an interest in science and anything with being a doctor while growing up. My pediatrician, I have always looked up to so seeing him do his job while maturing made me realize at some point I might want to do this. Watching a show like “Criminal Minds,” really opened my eyes to a field other than just pediatrics,” Barton said.
