Ingalls Witte is a senior at Robinson and the Multimedia Editor for Knight Writers. This is their second year on staff and first year as an editor.
An artist at heart, Witte is often painting or practicing for the Robinson Theatre Trope and last year won a superior at the state-level competition. Witte frequently gardens and says their room is full of plants.
Witte’s involvement in her school and community doesn’t just stop at theatre. They’re a returning member of the RHS Latin Club after joining last year and in their third year on the swim team. Witte is also a member of the NHS and IB Ambassadors.
When Witte does write she’s often found writing opinion pieces especially when they correlate with the news, including A&E stories. As Multimedia Editor, Witte is the current host of the Knight Mic video series.
“I like being able to make people laugh and enjoy what I’ve put together [in Knight Mic]. It’s so gratifying to see all the positive feedback and all the new people encouraged to come out of their shells to be interviewed,” Witte said.
In Witte’s spare time, She enjoys listening to an artist by the name of Will Wood who is more commonly known for his album “The Normal Album.” Witte also listens to the hit band The Sukis, who are known for their catchy melodies and enticing guitar hooks. She also listens to other alternative song artists like The Living Tomb Stone, Lemon Demon and others of the same genre.
Witte has been attracted to art for years but all in different shapes and forms. She’s known to sketch and paint on the sidelines while also continuing to stay loyal to her theater troupe. However, they wanted to do more to express themselves, which led them to join journalism.
“I’ve always loved expressing my creativity, and art was just like an extension of that… just like journalism,” Witte said.
Journalism has been and will forever be a great way for Witte to express herself and learn how to successfully have stronger writing.
